A:This online service is available for those bankruptcy cases in which the Official Receiver is the trustee. Undischarged bankrupts of the relevant cases can use this online service to submit Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired.

For bankruptcy cases in which the Official Receiver is not the trustee, please submit the Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired to the relevant trustee direct.
A:You can submit your Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired as soon as possible after the end your anniversary date. For example, if bankruptcy order is made against you on 9 March 2021, you can submit your 1st Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired (i.e. covering the period from 9 March 2021 to 8 March 2022) on or after 9 March 2022.
A:You can visit the Public Portal of the ESS (website: https://ess-public.oro.gov.hk) and follow the instructions on screen to submit your Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired
A:There is no need for you to register an account. You can simply log into the Public Portal of the ESS, and input your bankruptcy case name and case year as well as your personal information. A one-time password will then be generated and sent to your electronic device via SMS or email, depending on your choice at the login page.
A:The one-time password is sent to the mobile number or email address that you had made known to the Official Receiver’s Office. You should always keep the Official Receiver’s Office informed of your updated mobile phone number or email address. If you do not receive the one-time password, please contact your case officer for assistance. Your case officer should be able to verify and update, if necessary, your mobile number or email address on our record.
A:Before completing your Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired, you should read the “Completion Guide” to learn more about the procedure to ensure all the information provided are correct. The “Completion Guide” can be accessed by clicking “Completion Guide” in the “Fill Form” page or at our website (https://www.oro.gov.hk/pdf/eng/pforms/guide_on_completion.pdf).
A:Upon successful submission of your Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired, you will see a message “Your Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired has been submitted.” and receive a confirmation SMS or email, depending on your choice at the login page. The completed Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired will also be downloaded to your electronic device and browsed automatically.
A:The Official Receiver’s Office will send SMS message to you via the sender ID of OROESS containing the one-time password for you to login. The SMS messages will neither provide website links nor request you to provide personal information. You should always stay alert of phishing emails and online scams; never click suspicious links and do not disclose personal information to any unauthorized persons.
A:Public Portal of the ESS supports the “e-ME” form filling function of iAM Smart. If you have an iAM Smart account. You can use this function to automatically fill in your Hong Kong Identity Card number stored in the e-ME account in the login page.
A:Upon completing the steps below, your Hong Kong Identity Card Number will be automatically filled in the login page of the ESS:
  1. Click “Continue with “iAM Smart” in the login page.
  2. ESS will redirect you to a webpage that is hosted in iAM Smart System.
  3. Use iAM Smart Mobile App to scan the QR code on the webpage.
  4. ESS will invite you to authorize the form filling request in the iAM Smart Mobile App and pass the tokenized account identifier and form filling request to iAM Smart System.
  5. Use the “iAM Smart” mobile app and authorize “iAM Smart” System to pass user’s information to the ESS.
A:In normal circumstances, you do not have to re-submit your Annual Statement of Earnings and Property Acquired upon successful submission of the document through the ESS.
