A:A debtor who intends to file a ”Debtor’s Bankruptcy Petition” (“Petition”) and wishes to have the Petition attested before an authorized staff of the Official Receiver’s Office (“ORO”) can use this online appointment service. Pursuant to relevant provisions, the Petition could also be attested before the Registrar or a solicitor in Hong Kong.
A:You can visit GovHK to book an appointment for this service in the next 7 working days (Monday to Friday, except public holidays).
A:You may consider to book another available timeslot. Alternatively, you may attend the ORO’s Public Services Counter at 10/F, High Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong and register in person for any unused quota available. Unused quotas for a day, if any, will be distributed to debtors who register in person on a first-come-first-serve basis.
A:You should make sure that the information submitted must be correct so that the ORO can process the application and provide the requested attestation service. ORO staff may contact you by phone or email for the appointment. Please make sure that you are reachable at the local telephone number and the email address provided.
A:You should bring along the acknowledgement notice of your booking as well as the required documents (please refer to Question No. 6 for details) and attend the ORO’s Public Services Counter at 10/F, High Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. A numbered tag will be given to you and you are required to pay a deposit for the Petition at the Shroff. After making the payment, you should wait outside the Attestation Room which is opposite to the Public Services Counter. When your tag number flashes on the electronic display panel, you should enter the Attestation Room for the attestation of the Petition.

Note : Applicants who arrive later than the scheduled appointment time or without all the required documents and payment will not be entertained.
A:You should bring along your Hong Kong Identity Card, the acknowledgment notice of your booking, a duly completed Petition accompanied with a duly completed Statement of Affairs, together with a sum of HK$8,000 for settlement of the deposit for Petition (for procedure of payment, please refer to Question No. 11). Please note that you are also required to pay a court fee of HK$1,045 at the High Court Accounts Office when you file the Petition with court.
A:You can change or cancel your appointment through GovHK not later than one day before the scheduled appointment. After completing the change or cancellation, you will receive an acknowledgement notice on the change/cancellation of appointment via email.
A:If you are unable to attend the scheduled appointment, you should change or cancel the booking online at least one day before the appointment date so that the reserved timeslot can be released to another applicant.
A:Applicants who have made an appointment will have to reschedule the appointment by making a fresh application. In case of any enquiry or assistance required on rescheduling the appointment in this connection, please contact the enquiry hotline of the ORO at 2867 2448.
A:The deposit amount is currently HK$8,000.
A:You can pay the deposit in cash or cashier order made payable to the “Official Receiver, Hong Kong” at ORO’s Shroff at 10/F, High Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong.
