Case Summary

Upon a debtor’s bankruptcy petition presented in June 2025, a bankruptcy order was made against the Defendant in August 2025.

The Defendant carried on business during the period from May 2012 to May 2025, i.e. during the 2-year period immediately preceding the date of presentation of the bankruptcy petition.

The Defendant lost approximately HK$1,500,000 by gambling which were unconnected with his business. The said gambling loss materially contributed or increased the extent of his insolvency.
