Analysis of the Statistics on Prosecution Cases for January to March 2026

The Official Receiver issued a total of 142 summonses and obtained 113 convictions during the period.

The bankrupt defendants were convicted of the offences under sections 43(A)(6) & (7), 129(1)(f), 131(a) and/or 134(1) of Bankruptcy Ordinance, Cap. 6, and the director defendants were convicted of the offences under section 274(1) of the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance, Cap. 32, and/or section 373(1) and sections 377(2) & (3) of the Companies Ordinance, Cap. 622. For the penalties, the Court imposed penalties of 2 months’ imprisonment (suspended for 12 months) and fine ranging from HK$1,800 to HK$4,500.
